Salvation of the Fine, Liberal Arts

Robert Collins

Do not despair of those
who balance dogma

stacked decorously,
one fitting atop the other

constructing something
comprehensible,

a trudging logic
toward assured heaven,

all the Alike speaking
the same tongue, no risk

of multiple tumblings,
pieces of jargon

the bastion of Babel
uncoupled now, a poetry

available for shuffling
into a beauty children

at play will reverence,
be still and know.
