“The wolf shall dwell with the lamb,
and the leopard shall lie down with the young goat,
and the calf and the lion . . . together;
and a little child shall lead them.” (Isaiah 11: 6, ESV)
Palm Sunday
Again. Even today,
the Savior chooses
the donkey, sure-footed
on the road to
triumphant entry,
betrayal, anguish
in the dark night
of the Garden,
bearing his cross
to the place of the skull,
crucifixion, burial,
resurrection . . .
from the rubble
of cities,
rabid voices
of untruth,
political
self-aggrandizement,
hate, despair,
darkness.
Even today.
