As in the time of
the prophet Isaiah,
time of distress,
the darkness
of anguish,
deep shadow,
we pray for light,

for a garden of joy
and gladness
in which the wolf
lives with the lamb,
the panther lies down
beside the kid, calf
and lion cub feeding
together, the lion
eating straw with the ox,
and a child leads them.

Grant us
a spirit of wisdom
and understanding,
spirit of right counsel,
a new Eden, garden
of blessed beasts
and children
at play together.
