“The celebration of Advent is possible only to those who are troubled in soul, who know themselves to be poor and imperfect, and look forward to something greater to come.” — Dietrich Bonhoeffer

May it be the frolic of little ones
bouncing on tiptoes,
hugging each other, laughing,
leaping in light, the joy of
new beginnings, advent
of faith, hope, and love,
inviting grownups,
“poor and imperfect,”
for a season to become
again like a child, children
tumbling together
untroubled, heart and soul.
