Katrina is calling the rain,
each sight-read note

from her baby-grand piano filling
what is now the music conservatory,

more living room than its former
arrangement of postured chairs,

music now crescendoing to deluge
spilling over the rain gutter,

no channeling long faithed joy,
poetry unbound.

Today is our fifty-third
wedding anniversary.
