“‘Listen, anyone who has ears to hear.'”
(Mark 4: 9, The Jerusalem Bible)

Camels are passing through the eye of needles,
a caravan of seamstresses mending
the tattered garments of Little Ones,
urchins of the street, shadows
in the corners of eyes of motorists
passing in the lifting dark,

a thin light ribboning what will be
another morning blessed by shepherds
keeping watch for strays dropped casual
from the windows of muscle cars
to be caught in swaddling arms
and cradled to life going forth

with those impossible camels
unto all the world, sufficient love,
yes, no greater.
